This must be because on Debian ETCH there is not such a file, instead there is "/sys/bus/usb/devices/3-1/power/state" file, so I try this acording another blog: Here file called "3-1" must identify my usb optical mouse, it supose to be file called "3-2" but if you connect/disconnect optical mouse you can see that in fact it is identified by "3-1" file even when optical mouse correspond to port 3, device 2.īut then I obtain: "bash: 3-1/power/level: access denied" I been investigating and found that for UBUNTU it is posible to suspend an USB device, your kernel bus must have CONFIG_USB_SUSPEND enabled, well I have a Debian Etch with kernel version: 2.6.18 and there is CONFIG_USB_SUSPEND=y.īut I can't suspend any USB devices, this are instructions followed:ġ) found your USB device at /sys/bus/usb/devicesĢ) identify bus/device for your case (in this case let's try to suspend optical mouse)īus 003 Device 002: ID 046d:c016 Logitech, Inc.
